So my husband is from Uganda and recently moved to America. He deosn't care much about food and most things that I cook. But the first time he tried chinese food he feel in love. Instead of spending 20 bucks on take out I decided to try my hand at asian cooking. After making this for him he said we never had to get take out again. He is a happy man.
A bowl full of sliced beef. Doesn't matter to me what cut
1 tbsp. oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic, crushed
3/4 c. soy sauce
2 c. beef broth
1 to 2 tbsp. sugar
1 lg. head broccoli, cut up in small pieces
6 to 8 carrots, cut up small or little shoestrings
1 lg. can sliced mushrooms (optional)
3 tbsp. cornstarch & 1 c. water
Rice
1 tbsp. oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic, crushed
3/4 c. soy sauce
2 c. beef broth
1 to 2 tbsp. sugar
1 lg. head broccoli, cut up in small pieces
6 to 8 carrots, cut up small or little shoestrings
1 lg. can sliced mushrooms (optional)
3 tbsp. cornstarch & 1 c. water
Rice
*Tip: Cut meat in slices while a little frozen to make it eash but let meat come to room temp before cooking. If you put cold meat in a hot pan it tightens up and gets tough.
Heat oil and garlic in skillet until garlic turns light brown around the edges. Then put in beef immediately and stir until brown. Then add soy sauce, beef broth, sugar and juice from mushrooms. Stir and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Add cut up broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms. Stir into beef mixture. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir once or twice. Take 1 cup water and stir in cornstarch. Add to stir fry to thicken. Serve over rice.
